Day trip Meknes & Volubilis
You love history and culture and are interested in the Roman influence in Morocco? You want to visit the UNESCO world heritage city of Meknes? You want to visit one of the most important Koran schools in Morocco?
Then this day trip is right for you!
You will leave Fez in the morning and drive west through olive trees and vineries. Your first stop is Volubilis, where you can choose to hire a guide or explore on your own. The walk around the whole area takes about 1 hour.
From here you will continue to Meknes, where you will have lunch (not included). Afterwards you will meet your guide for a 2 hour tour of the medina, which is listed as UNESCO world heritage. You can admire the famous Bab Mansour, the former imperial stables and the Mausoleum Moulay Ismail. After the tour you can visit the Madrasa Bou Inania, the most impressive building of Meknes.
