Daytrip to Ouzoud
You want to get out of the noisy and busy city for a day? You enjoy nature and would like to see monkeys in their natural habitat? It is too hot in Marrakech and you would like to have a refreshing trip to the mountains?
Then the waterfalls of Ouzoud are the place to go! They are one of the most popular attractions reachable from Marrakech for a daytrip. It is an easy 2.5 hours drive into the foothills of the Atlas Mountains.
The waterfalls are around 110 m high and most spectacular in the spring when the snow is melting and it has rained.
The little town of Ouzoud offers little beyond a few cafés, but the walk down to the base of the cascades is pretty spectacular. You can go for a boat ride, but be prepared to get a little wet if you do. Also, you can go for a swim, so pack your bathingsuit!
You will have lunch with a view of the falls, and there are plenty of little shops offering you a cold drink on the way back up. After this, you will return to Marrakech.
