Day trip Ifrane & Azrou
You love waterfalls, monkeys and the mountains? You want to visit an untouristic little town? You are in Fez in the winter and want to see some snow?
Then this is the right trip for you!
You will leave Fez in the morning and drive towards into the mountains. Your first stop is a pretty waterfall near Seffrou. After some photos and maybe a refreshing shower, you will head into town. You can walk around the small medina with its market full of fresh produce. Before getting back into the car, enjoy a glass of fresh mint tea and watch the bustle of the town.
From here you will head higher into the mountains with the famous cedar forests. There are multiple places to stop and see the native Barbary monkeys. If you like you can buy some peanuts from the locals to feed to them.
The next stop is the town of Azrou for lunch. In the afternoon your driver will drop you in Ifrane, a skiing resort with resemblance of Switzerland. Take a walk around and visit the Lion that was carved from stone by a German prisoner of war in the 1930s.
