3 days to Marrakech

You are in Fez and want to get to the dunes of Merzouga and continue on to Marrakech? You want to spend a night under a million stars? You want to visit Ait Ben Haddou and the spectacular Dades gorge on the way?

Then this tour is for you!

Day 1:

We leave Fez in the morning. Your first stop will be near the town of Azrou, where you can meet the native monkeys in the cedar forest. Enjoy the drive into the Atlas Mountains, passing Berber villages and amazing views with a few photo stops on the way.

Lunch will be served in the mountain town of Midelt. In the afternoon we will drive along the Ziz Valley, one of the biggest date providers in Morocco, passing through Errachidia, Erfoud and RIssani.

Once we arrive in Merzouga you can leave your luggage in a hotel and only take what you need for the night in the desert camp. You will ride a camel into the dunes, with the choice to dismount and climb up the biggest dune for the sunset. It is an awesome spot for gorgeous sunset photos, so make sure to bring your camera!

Once the sun is gone, the ride continues to the camp for dinner, campfire music and a night under a million stars.

Day 2:

You can choose to climb the dunes again for a view of the rising sun before returning to Merzouga on camel back. Enjoy a quick shower in the hotel before breakfast. Then you are heading back on the road, towards Marrakech.

After a short drive we will have a quick stop in Rissani to check out the local market. From here to Erfoud and Tinghir, where we will have lunch. After this we will discover the Todra gorge, a spectacular canyon that you can walk through on foot as well as the Dades gorge, a famous photo spot.

We will continue through the Valley of roses through Skoura to Ouarzazate, where you will spend the night.

Day 3:

You have the option to visit the movie studios (not included) in the morning.

Your driver will drop you off in Ait Ben Haddou for a short exploration of this UNESCO world heritage site. You might recognise it from movies like Gladiator or The Mummy or the TV show Game of Thrones.

Your lunch stop will be in one of the small villages along the Tizi’n’Tichka road and there will be plenty of stops to take photos of this part of the Atlas.

After passing the Atlas Mountains, you will be dropped off at or close to your accommodation in Marrakech.
