3 days desert trip

You are in Fez and want to see the dunes of Merzouga without much hassle? You want to spend a night under a million stars? You want to visit the cedar forests of Azrou and the famous Todra gorge on the way?

Then this tour is for you!

Day 1:

We leave Fez in the morning. Your first stop will be near the town of Azrou, where you can meet the native monkeys in the cedar forest. Enjoy the drive into the Atlas Mountains, passing Berber villages and amazing views with a few photo stops on the way.

Lunch will be served in the mountain town of Midelt. From here we will turn towards Imilchil and the Todra gorge. After a drive through the gorge just before sunset, you will spend the night in the town of Tinghir.

Day 2:

In the morning, after breakfast and a nice hot shower in your hotel, we will continue on towards Merzouga. We will stop in Rissani for lunch and a visit of the local market, a good place to shop for some souvenirs.

Once we arrive in Merzouga you can leave your luggage in a hotel and only take what you need for the night in the desert camp. You will ride a camel into the dunes, with the choice to dismount and climb up the biggest dune for the sunset. It is an awesome spot for gorgeous sunset photos, so make sure to bring your camera!

Once the sun is gone, the ride continues to the camp for dinner, campfire music and a night under a million stars.

Day 3:

You can choose to climb the dunes again for a view of the rising sun before returning to Merzouga on camel back. Enjoy a quick shower in the hotel before breakfast. Then you are heading back on the road to Fez. We will stop in a couple of places along the way, depending on your preferences. Options are the fossil museum of Erfoud, Midelt (for lunch) and Ifrane (a skiing town with a resemblance of Switzerland).
